Then it will display a list of options. Choose Lock option from the list. This will lock your computer until you enter your password or swipe your finger and unlock it again. Are these methods still not good enough? Is it still too much trouble for you to go through all these clicking and pressing of keys? Then you should also know that there is a simpler method, which is just a double click on your desktop icon and your computer will be locked. But this does not come easy at first. You will have to create a shortcut on your desktop so that it could be used whenever you want to lock your computer. It doesn’t matter whether it is a laptop or a desktop. To create the shortcut, right click on your computer go to New -> Shortcut. Then a screen will be displayed to you with the option to Type the location of the item: here you should type where to find the item you need to lock the computer. The item you are looking for is in “C:\WindowsSystem32\rundll32.exe user32.dll,LockWorkStation”. Type or copy and paste it without the quotes. Then click the Next button at the bottom of the screen. Give a name you prefer to the shortcut icon and finish the process. Your shortcut will appear on your desktop. But the icon it displays may not be very relevant. Go to shortcut properties and try changing the icon to a more relevant one.

Fortunately some users get the option of locking there PC by just a matter of pressing a key on their keyboards. This option may come with new models of laptops but if you do not have this option, there are plenty of ways you can manage without it.
